My Treasure, and other random thoughts
Nov. 30th, 2010 11:56 am My daughter is so beautiful *.* She is my mini-me. It excites me to see her attempt to walk, to talk, to imitate me around the house, I love it so much! Her happiness comes before all else in my life, and I cannot wait to have conversations with her, to tell her everything she should know, and more. I cannot wait to hear her opinions on things, and to tell me things that I did not know, to tell me her interests and ambitions. I want to know her like I must have known her before this world began. I want to share with her the magic I experienced as a child. The whimsy, the comical, the absolute wonder. My love for her in infinite. I never want her to push me away, or look at me with disdain. I will try my very hardest to keep her happy, safe, productive, intelligent, self-sufficiant, and independant. But most of all, happy. I want her to have all of the confidence that I never had until now. And someday, I might give her siblings to share her happiness with :)
I don't mind that she is a daddy's girl, since I'm a daddy's girl as well. All girls need a dad, and her's is as wonderful as mine!
I think that girls turn to their fathers because girls need to feel protected and safe. Boys turn to their mothers because they need to feel soothed and comforted. And why a girl will look up to her older brother, or a boy might look up to his older sister. And maybe that's why men and women turn to each other--and sometimes men to other men, and women to other women. A man might need to feel protected, and a women might need to feel comforted. Or they all might not have any needs, other than that they love, are in love, or simply enjoy the others company.
I think it's wonderful, and I hope to have a boy next so that perhaps he can be a mommy's boy :)
